Random Name Picker

Type in a list of names — or prizes, tasks, or choices — and spin the wheel to pick one at random. It is a free wheel of names that works in your browser, with no sign-up, and every entry has a fair chance unless you decide otherwise.

How to pick a random name

1. Add your names

Type or paste your entries into the list, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.

2. Make it yours

Change the colors, add pictures, or give some entries a bigger slice if you want them to come up more often.

3. Spin

The wheel spins and lands on a random entry. Turn on no-repeat mode to take each winner off the wheel, so you can draw several winners in a row.

Is the picker really random?

How is the winner chosen?

Every spin uses your browser’s secure random number generator (the Web Crypto API), not the weaker Math.random() that many spinner tools use. The winner is chosen before the animation starts, so the animation cannot change the result.

Are all names equally likely?

Yes, unless you deliberately change an entry’s weight. A badge shows when every entry has equal odds.

Where are my names kept?

On your device. Your entries and settings are not uploaded or shared; the site only counts anonymous things such as page visits and spins, never your entries.

What people use a name picker for

  • Classrooms — Call on students fairly, assign roles, or choose who reads next.
  • Giveaways and raffles — Draw a winner for a contest, a stream, or a holiday prize.
  • Teams — Decide who presents first, who runs the meeting, or which idea to tackle next.
  • Decisions — Settle where to eat, what to watch, or any yes-or-no question you cannot decide.
  • Games and parties — Choose who goes next, pick a challenge, or spin for a prize.

Random Name Picker FAQ

Is this name picker free to use?

Yes. Spin as many times as you like, with no account and no sign-up.

How do I make my own wheel of names?

Type your list into the entry box and spin. Your wheel is saved on your device so you can use it again later.

Can I remove a name after it is picked?

Yes. Turn on no-repeat mode so each entry can be chosen only once. It suits raffles and drawing several winners.

Is the picker really random?

Yes. Each spin uses your browser’s secure random number generator, and every entry has the same chance unless you set custom weights.

Can I use it for things other than names?

Yes. Entries can be prizes, tasks, numbers, or any text, so it also works as a decision wheel.
